ENERGY ASSESSMENT
The Buildings Energy Efficiency Ordinance (BEEO) which regulates energy efficiency standards of key building services installations has come into full operation since 21 September 2012. It aims to reduce energy consumption through mandatory implementation of the Building Energy Code (BEC) to lessen Green House Effect. The installations include air-conditioning installation, electrical installation, lighting installation as well as lift and escalator installation.
Since start of implementation of BEEO in 2012, we have been assigned by many SME and prestige giant companies for building energy assessments for private, industrial commercial and transportation buildings such as beverage & food shops, production factories, retail stores and transportation stations as well.
ENERGY AUDIT
Energy Audit is to provide guidelines to encourage owners of commercial buildings to conduct energy audit. With the full implementation of the BEEO in September 2012, owners of buildings must conduct energy audit according to the Energy Audit Code (EAC).
According to EMSD’s information, one of the mandates of Energy Efficiency and conservation (EEO) is to promote best practices in energy management to both the public and private sectors.
Based on this direction, it is recommend commercial organisations to start with an energy audit, which is a review of how and where energy is consumed in their companies.
